Is Sora 2 a Sign for the End of the World?

You’ve probably heard about OpenAI’s new release, SORA 2, a video creation tool.

This new system allows you to create hyper-realistic videos just by writing a sentence.

Back in the day, this wasn’t too concerning because the videos looked terrible.

But now they’re almost indistinguishable from real footage, which is why many people are starting to freak out.

So, should you?

Replacing Creators

Why is there an increasing concern from many famous creators about the dangers of a tool like Sora 2?

Well, the problem is that when you make video creation so fucking simple, anyone can produce AI slop that’s consumable, even bingeable.

The younger TikTok-brained generation doesn’t really care whether AI or a real creator makes a video.

In their doomscroll, they will consume whatever the algorithm feeds them.

And I haven’t even told you yet the worst part about this shit.

Sora 2 also has some sort of platform that mimics TikTok. So you can not only create this AI slop, but also consume it directly there.

Another truly great innovation for humanity…

Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m an AI fan, and I use it to make my work easier. But at the same time, I have enough of a mind to see when something gets out of hand.

And here we’re only talking about attention spans and creators. Let me tell you about something far more sinister.

How AI and fake videos can, will, and already have influenced political elections.

The real danger of AI-generated videos

So, I’m Romanian.

You’ve probably heard about our elections. Why am I assuming that?

Well, they got canceled.

You heard that right.

The European Union, as well as the governing body of our country, decided that the first round of elections was interfered with by Russians, and they had to be canceled.

Were they right?

Probably yes.

Was it ideal that they canceled the elections?

No.

But why did they do it?

There was a candidate who appeared out of the abyss and took almost all the votes.

I had never heard of this guy in my life, and somehow, he had the most votes.

How?

FUCKING TIKTOK.

Not what you expected, right?

He ran his entire campaign on TikTok, across multiple accounts. He used bots to boost those accounts, leave fake comments, and generate fake likes. Moreover, influencers were also hired on his behalf to talk about his supposed greatness.

This guy, who didn’t even exist in the minds of Romanians, instantly captured the hearts of countless people through bots, hypnotic speeches, and dramatic music in endless TikTok shorts.

Now, how does Sora tie into all of this?

Well, imagine someone like this not only getting exposure through bot-boosted videos but also having a team creating fake news about the other candidates.

Let me ask you this:

Do you really think people binging videos on TikTok will have the patience to carefully examine fake ones?

Probably not. They’ll believe random fake news.

Which will further support the efforts of some Russian-propaganda-loving, dubious character.

So, what the fuck can we even do?

Alignment and Peace

So much is happening in the world all at once.

“The future is not only stranger than we suppose, it’s stranger than we can suppose.” – Terence McKenna

You cannot physically prepare for everything the future may hold, but one thing that will always help you is clarity of thought.

I believe writing has the best chance to improve the flow, structure, and value of every piece of information flowing through your mind.

That’s why, more than ever, for you to be able to string your ideas together into a coherent version you can act upon, you should start writing.

This writing doesn’t have to be commercial or cater to an algorithm. It can simply be for you.

Journaling is a great practice that can help you release the depths of your mind and offer peace in the process.

The simple act of writing out what’s bothering you, what makes you sad, what makes you happy, or what makes you fulfilled is enough to give you more clarity and peace.

Why would you need clarity and peace?

Well, as you can see, the world will only get crazier as the years go by.

To navigate the complexity of the reality that’s about to unfold, your best bet is on your mind. On your ability to think critically, connect ideas, and act on your plans efficiently.

Sounds good, Seb, but journaling won’t make me money, and all the clarity I’ll get will only show my misery in higher definition.

That’s a reasonable but dark interpretation of the perspective I’m trying to convey, but I also have an answer for that.

Simply jotting down your thoughts and gaining clarity can, in fact, make you money if you do it in public. If you build a personal brand.

Make Your Growth Public

When I say that gaining clarity and growing as a person can make you money, I’m not talking out of my ass.

I did exactly this by leveraging Medium and ended up freelancing, earning over six figures through writing.

And I’m not special, gifted, or even a native English speaker. So anyone who speaks English as their first language already has more advantages than I do.

In an era that will only bring more challenges and complexities than our ancestors could have imagined, my solution for surviving and stumbling toward your own “light” is writing.

Articulating the nature of your inner life and the nature of reality itself will help you solve your problems and, in the process, make you money.

As people become more engulfed in the virtual world, incapable of stringing two sentences together, with attention spans absolutely shattered, having a quiet and sharp mind will be invaluable.

That’s why I urge you to start writing.

It’s never too late to start building this invaluable habit.
